Der er et yndigt land - Natonal Anthem

Denmark’s Radio’s girl choir, singing “Det er et yndigt land”.
Lyrics by Adam Oehlensläger and music by H.E Krøyer.
Recording from DR.

‘Der er et yndigt land’ (There is a lovely land) is the civil national anthem of Denmark. When first published in 1819, the anthem had 12 verses but today has been significantly shortened.

Denmark has two officially recognised national anthems. The other is ‘Kong Christian stod ved højen mast’
