Around 20,000 Danes swim in the sea during the winter, and swim even when the water is frozen over and icy. During the last decade, Copenhagen harbour has become so clean that it’s almost always suitable for swimming, both during the summer and winter. In various places saunas are available, and it is here that winter swimmers gather.
